Youth in Action Against Poverty and HIV/AIDS (YAAPHA) is a non-profit organization working in mainland Tanzania with youth and women, vulnerable children and general community members .
Our primary focus is to reduce poverty, implement education programs and promote practices of sustainable development, end homelessness, Entrepreneurship programs among young people, Life skills training for school children. The mission of the organization is committed to reduce illiteracy and poverty by addressing the needs of children, women ,youth and homeless people, providing primary education, environmental and Human rights education, HIV/AIDS awareness, life skills and entrepreneurship empowerment in Tanzania.
YAAPHA provides HIV/AIDS prevention , education, counselling, care and support in Tanzania. We are established as a response to the problem of HIV/AIDS, drug abuse and educational challenges among children and adults.
YAAPHA started in 2010 by Peter Bundala in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region, YAAPHA registered on July 11, 2011, as a Non-governmental Organization (NGO) under the Society Act (Cap 337 of 2002) [Registration #NGO/00005070]. YAAPHA operates in the Kilimanjaro, Dodoma, Tabora, Arusha , Kigoma regions AND Kawangware in Kenya.
Our main objectives aim to:
ï‚· Bring awareness over Tanzania and universal values in the field of education as the main foundation for a better life;
ï‚· Implement the practices used within the frame of non-formal learning to as many levels as possible in order to bring
efficiency in the youth interaction with the social, cultural and educational environment
ï‚· Create a proactive attitude toward education among young people
ï‚· Promoting intercultural dialogue;
ï‚· Increase employment of young people and to support their personal and professional development
ï‚· Develop young's people initiative
ï‚· YAAPHA encourage communities to preserve environment for current and future generation through planting trees,
provide environmental education and to prevent land degradation and soil erosion.
ï‚· YAAPHA promotes gender issue and justice for all and enabling women to have equal rights like their counterpart
males in the society.
ï‚· Promote volunteerism altitudes for people at local, national and international levels
ï‚· Raise awareness on HIV/AIDS infection and effects of Drug abuse.
ï‚· YAAPHA encourage young people to involve themselves in Agriculture activities as means of income.
