The Malibu Rose Productions Story
In 2017, Malibu Rose Productions was founded by our CEO Rose Wakesho. Rose was born in Kenya and raised in Europe. She spent 16 years of her life in Germany where she began her acting career. In 2012, she moved to Los Angeles, which quickly became like a home for her.
After 5 years of working in front of the camera and on stage in LA, she decided to expand the scope of her involvement in the entertainment industry to include writing, directing, and producing projects. Having lived in Malibu for a majority of her time in LA and developing the nickname "Malibu Rose" on the social scene, coming up with a name for the company was a no-brainer.
In 2018, she married Joe Aburdene, and he joined the company as Managing Director, bringing 15 years of Sales, Operations, and Recruiting experience with him along with his love for the arts. Later that year, they started production on their first project for release - the independent, interview-style documentary "Why Me?: Starting Out in Hollywood". The film was privately-screened for family friends in July of 2019 before being made available on Amazon Prime Video and Vimeo On Demand.
Malibu Rose Productions has a variety of their own projects in various stages of development and welcomes the opportunity to worth with other creative and talented individuals at various stages of their career.
