Edsel Martinez started his career in the Healthcare and Education industries. Having worked in the family business for eleven years by helping to manage a hospital and a college, he then decided to pursue a career in the #1 university in Asia, the National University of Singapore in 2008 as Manager of Career Service at NUS Business School. He developed a professional interest in Career Management as a career consultant for the undergraduate and post-graduate students before moving on to establish the career center at James Cook Australia, Singapore Campus in 2010 where he developed and taught career management programs. In 2012, he joined the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines as a consultant for the Career Management and Placement Office and eventually became the Director of AIM Career Services Office in 2013 where he was responsible for streamlining its operations and instilling advancements in the practice of career management in the institution. In January 2017, Edsel founded Motivate Consulting, a career management consulting firm that focuses on understanding the motivations of an individual and provides relevant career advice that gives a clearer picture of the job fit, thus, preventing a job mismatch which is fast becoming a crisis in the Philippines.
