Hi, I'm Lauren! I recently graduated from Flagler College with a B.A. in Digital Media Production major and a minor in Creative Writing. My dream is to write comedy for television! I'd love to write for a sitcom and/or sketch comedy show someday, ideally, one that prominently features female comics and people of color (although I'd love to live in a world where people are judged solely by how funny they are, representation is key to getting there).
Last May, I wrote and directed a sketch comedy series of my own called, "The Thrift Store" for Flagler College Television, which premiered at the St. Augustine Film Festival. Although I really enjoy writing sketches, I love all types of storytelling and have written several short stories, a few original TV pilots, a feature-length script, and speculative scripts for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Big Mouth. While at Flagler I also got the amazing opportunity to intern at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival for Archstone Distribution, where I met filmmakers and writers across the globe.
In addition to my love of film, I am very passionate about writing fiction and poetry. Of late, one of my poems, "Want Ad" was published in Issue 5 of Shards Literary Magazine and most recently, my poem, “The Depressing Room,” just debuted in Capulet Magazine! I was able to explore my love of storytelling further as a fiction editor for FLARE: The Flagler College review for the 2018 edition and as a lead editor for the 2019 edition. I also enjoy writing journalistic pieces and as an Official Staff Writer for Flagler’s News and Information Center I get to write feature stories about students and alumni for the Flagler College Magazine and have written other pieces for Flagler College's Student Newspaper, "The Gargoyle".
Since graduating, I started working remotely as a Writer’s Assistant for Baboon Animation after completing a TV Coordinator internship with them, all while continuing to pursue my dream of writing for TV and freelance writing for various clients
